Adult Programs

___________________________________

home league

Hundreds of adults gather in our Corps Community Center in the Tyler area, to share interests, develop new skills and enjoy the company of their peers.

Activities

Educational classes, day care, hot-lunch programs, computer skills, Bible Study and pre-retirement seminars are just a few of the programs we offer. Each center provides a variety of activities to meet diverse needs. Here, in an atmosphere of understanding and respect, new friendships are formed and talents discovered.

Older Adult Camp

Older adults also enjoy the beauty of God’s great outdoors. Clean, comfortable, easy-access camp facilities allow older adults an outing for the weekend or to enjoy week-long programs. Here God works his miracles of physical, emotional and spiritual renewal in the open air.

Senior Residences

We operate the William Booth Gardens facility where older people can live in an atmosphere of love, acceptance and encouragement. This is a HUD program run by The Salvation Army with transportation available, monthly lunches, a beauty salon, activities, and much more. We recognize the problem of some seniors on fixed incomes not being able to afford homes. The Salvation Army is helping to alleviate those problems with our William Booth Gardens Apartments.

Community Care Ministries/League of Mercy

Loneliness is a serious problem seen everyday in hospitals, convalescent and nursing homes, correctional institutions, veteran’s medical centers and children’s homes. In order to help alleviate the suffering of the individuals we formed a visitation program called the League of Mercy. The League of Mercy visitation program connects volunteers and Salvation Army officers and soldiers with those who have special needs in hospitals and nursing homes as well as the homebound. Whether it is through a listening ear, a caring heart, a helping hand or a gentle touch, we let these people know that love we them and that God loves them too.

Home League

We offer a program designed on the four core values of service, fellowship, education, and worship. This program has been designed for ladies ages 16 and up. We have created a place where the ladies gather for lunch, fellowship, and a program based on one of the core values.

Bible Study

Just like our Youth, we offer Bible Studies to all ages on Wednesday Night. We pray that the Lord's Word would reach out to those who need to hear it. Our classes create an atmosphere open to questions and learning for those of all different levels of knowledge.
