William Booth Gardens Apartments was developed to serve Senior Citizens and/or Handicapped and/or the Disabled. Among the numerous eligibility requirements are:
1) Single Person 62 + or handicapped or disabled
2) Married Couple one of which is 62 + or handicapped or disabled.
3) Income Ceiling (set by HUD and subject to annual revision)
Our Administrative Offices are open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. You are invited to come pick up an application and obtain more information. A returned completed application is necessary before you can be placed on the Waiting List.
William Booth Garden Apartments
The Salvation Army's William Booth Garden Apartments has been in operation since January 1982. Located on 13 beautifully landscaped acres inside the Tyler city limits. There are 132 accessible units at ground level. Twelve of the units have accessible showers.
Each unit is equipped with a refrigerator, gas range, drapes, central air and heat, wall to wall carpet and are wired for cable service. The common lawns are cared for by the apartment maintenance personnel and the Resident plants and grooms his own flower bed.
In the Administrative Office Building there is a modern Laundry Room, Beautry Shop with special rates for Residents and a Ceramic Studio offering free instruction for Residents.
William Booth Garden Apartments is a friendly community located within a mile of Mother Frances Hospital, East Texas Medical Center and Tyler Junior College. The Tyler Transit System has a bus stop at our Golden Road entrance. Various community social services are available to our Residents. Eligibility is determined by each indiviual agency. There is a staff Service Coordinator to help residents take advantage of appropriate services for their individual circumstances and needs.
